Image Analysis of Cluster of Galaxies with Ray Tracing Program

Abstract
To estimate the spatial distribution of X-ray photons from diffuse
X-ray sources, we must consider the effect of the point spread
function of XRT and detectors. One of the effective methods is the ray
tracing method.
Spatial distributions of X-rays of cluster of galaxies and elliptical
galaxy are well reproduced by modified King's model (beta model).
Assuming beta model, about three clusters of galaxies and a giant
elliptical galaxy (A665, A2163, CL0016+16, and NGC4486 located at the
center of the Virgo Cluster), we compared simulated radial profiles
and observed ones and estimated parameters of beta model (core radius,
beta).
